Use the passage below to answer the following question: [T]his race of unequaled energy, with all the majesty of numbers and the

might of wealth behind it-the representative, let us hope, of the largest liberty, the purest Christianity,…will spread itself over the earth…[T]his powerful race will move down upon Mexico, down upon Central and South America, out upon the islands of the sea, over upon Africa and beyond. And can any one doubt that the results of this competition of races will be the "survival of the fittest?"—Vincent Ferraro, Resources for the Study of International Relations and Foreign Policy, Mount Holyoke College International Relations Program, 2010 What 19th century philosophy is described in this excerpt?

The Anglo -Saxon supremacy was the 19th century philosophy described in this excerpt.

Explanation:

Josiah Strong was the popular protestant clergyman who wrote this excerpt. The book Our country written by him was written with an intention to promote missionary activity by the protestant churches.

This book became very popular and sold very many copies. It was embraced mainly by people, who were convinced that the Anglo-Saxon race was the saviour of the world, and they had the right to dominate the world and eliminate all the savage races in the world.

He believed that it was God , who was training the Anglo-Saxon race to dominate the world.

Answer:

A) Bipolar Disorder.

B) DID (Dissociative identity disorder).

Explanation:

DID is a mental illness characterized by, at least, two different and relatively stable states of personality. Patricia, who happens to miss periods of time, has another personality (according to this example) called Priscilla. Priscilla is different from her because she was "the life of the party", and Patricia doesen't drink, is shy and retiring. This could also mean that she has a bipolar disorder, which is characterised by depression and abnormal mood swings. That could explain why Patricia, a shy and retiring person, is also Priscilla, the life of the party.
