An internal conflict is a mental struggle due to opposing demands or impulses. Therefore, the best example of internal conflict is a respected elder in a community that is tempted to betray her people (C). The respected elder cares greatly for her community, so she wouldn't want to do anything to betray the people within it. However, when an opportunity that benefits her presents itself, she becomes tempted to do just that. Therefore, she as an internal conflict whether she should support the community that greatly respects her or betray them for her own benefit.
