Answer:

The middle colony that was originally founded by the Dutch was New York.

Explanation:

The Province of New York was originally founded by the Dutch as the Colony of New Amsterdam.

New Amsterdam was founded in 1625 by the Dutch West Indian Company, the city was located on the southern tip of the island of Manhattan, strategic and defensible place for the fluvial access of the fur trade in the Hudson Valley.

It became the largest Dutch settlement in North America and remained in the hands of the Netherlands until 1664, when it passed into the hands of England. The Dutch regained it briefly in 1673 and relinquished it to England in 1674 under the terms of the Treaty of Westminster, renaming the English the settlement as New York.

What did thurgood marshall (who would later become a supreme court justice) mean when he said "90 odd years is pretty gradual?"?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
In this quote, Thurgood Marshall is talking about the time between the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation (which was supposed to free slaves in the Confederacy) to the Brown vs. Board case which ruled that "separate but equal" is unconstitutional.

The reason he brings up these two events is because it shows how little progress American society has changed in these 90 years. Even though African-Americans were supposed to be free citizens after the Emancipation Proclamation, they were still treated as second class citizens in the US. They were constantly targets of voter discrimination, violence, and prejudice.
