In a 1639 excerpt from his writing, King Louis XIV of France compares himself to a god, stating that “And kings are the lieutenants and gods of the people, whose divine right it is to rule.” When one king is given unlimited power over a nation’s government, military, and leadership, the people have no say, and the ruler ends up leading their nation using corrupt ways only beneficial to the upper class and himself. The evolution of the media has been fraught with concerns and problems. Accusations of mind control, bias, and poor quality have been thrown at the media on a regular basis. Yet the growth of communications technology allows people today to find more information more easily than any previous generation. Mass media can be print, radio, television, or Internet news. They can be local, national, or international. They can be broad or limited in their focus. The choices are tremendous.
With the salve trade, the Europeans made some of the stronger African tribes along the coast heavily dependent on them. That was largely due to the profit and weapons that these tribes were getting from selling slaves to the Europeans.
The slave trade and the slavery though got abolished, thus the profit and weapons that the Africans were getting stopped. That resulted in the weakening, and after several incidents with the Europeans, the Europeans attacked them one by one and managed to conquer and colonize them easily.
