Why is the setting of the underworld

English
1 answer:

I assume this is from the short play "the sound of music goes underground" ? Im not quite sure. But a quick google brings it up.

Explanation:

a. Its a place where mortals have gone, because, being mortal, our lives are short and we can be easily killed. Mortals havent returned because they are dead when they get to the underworld.

b. Because the gods and goddesses love music just as much as mortal men

c. Hades is the ruler of the underworld lol, and he lost the opportunity to rule elsewhere in a bet to the other gods.

d. Its dark because its the underworld, its mysterious because nobody ever goes there and comes back to tell the living about its secrets, and the feeling of distrust? Maybe people seem not to trust orpheus because he is a living man going to do what had never been done before.

Think about ways you are like the rose. What are the things in your life that can be represented by the concrete?
cluponka [151]

Answer and Explanation:

This question refers to "The Rose that Grew from Concrete."

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?

Proving nature's laws wrong, it learned to walk without having feet

Funny it seems, but by keeping it's dreams,

It learned to breathe fresh air.

Long live the rose that grew from the concrete

When no one else even cared!

I will provide a personal answer, but feel free to adapt it to your own reality.

Everyone has adversities to overcome. So, in a sense, we are all the rose that grows from concrete. I am no exception. Even though I see myself as blessed, I too have issues and hardships holding me back, trying to prevent my growth. Being a woman is, unfortunately, still one of them. I hope and fight for the day when my gender will not mean I am less worthy of a job or a salary. Lack of money in a world that is fueled by it is tough as well. Still, I go after what I want. I make the money, no matter how little; I save it and, when I finally use it, it is to improve myself, my life, my abilities.

NOTE: In case you are a male or have had other issues in life, here are some ideas:

- having grown up in a violent neighborhood;

- your ethnicity;

- being an immigrant;

- having lost a loved one.

Which is the BEST example of an appeal to logos, or reason?
slava [35]

Answer:

B. Does the writer demonstrate respect for opposing viewpoints.

Explanation:

An appeal to logos is to persuade the audience through reasoning. Some examples may include stats/data or cited facts. Response B is the reasonable choice, since it deals with reasoning, even it entails the mentioning of opposing views. Basically, facts over feelings.

Hope that helps!

Which excerpt from Dispatches contains imagery that evokes a sense of helplessness and inevitability?
valina [46]

Exact excerpt is given in the second paragraph. It is the correct answer because it describes the Vietnam war and the excerpt shows how it is inevitable because it would finally happen one day. How people feels about the news creates a visual imagery in the mind of the reader.

No wonder everyone became a luck freak, no wonder you could wake at four in the morning some mornings and know that tomorrow it would finally happen, you could stop worrying about it now and just lie there, sweating in the dampest chill you ever felt.
