Poaching refers to the illegal hunting of wild animals in violation of the laws which regulate hunting of wild animals. Over utilization refers to the exploitation of an animal to the point of extinction. Poaching activities include hunting and killing wild animals without licence, using illegal weapons to kill animals, killing animal out of season, etc. All these activities can lead to drastic reduction in the population of animal specie to the extent that the animals become extinct. A good example of an over utilized animal specie is passenger pigeon.

Choose all the answers that apply. Sex-linked disorders _____. affect males more than females, affect females more than males, c
Wittaler [7]

Several are correct:

Affect males more than females

Can be carried by females

Are always expressed by males

A bit of explanation: sex linked genes are carried on the X chromosome. That’s why it affects males more than females...they only get one x from their mom. Females can be affected IF they receive 2 bad X chromosomes. So with a male, the bad gene on the x is always expressed. Color blindness is a good example of this.

Why are marriages between blood relatives prohibited in the united states and other countries?
HACTEHA [7]
Marriages or any form of sexual relations between blood relatives is incest and is completely prohibited in the United States and most other countries of the world.

There are two reasons for this:

1. Religious: Most major world religions prohibit marriages between blood relatives. In countries where church and other religious institutions had a strong following, incest remains a crime.

2. Biological: Medical Science has proven that off-springs of close relatives e.g. brother-sister, first cousins and even second cousins have a high chance of genetic mutation which can lead to various health issues. This is the main reason why modern societies prohibit incest
