The correct answer to the question being presented above would be the third sentence of the choices. The situation wherein '<span>a pregnant woman begins to go into labor, the body sends hormones that increase the intensity of the labor contractions.' describes a positive feedback loop.</span>

Answer;

An example of positive feedback loop is;

-When a pregnant woman begins to go into labor, the body sends hormones that increase the intensity of the labor contractions.

Explanation;

-Feedback loops are therefore the process whereby a change to the system results in an alarm which will trigger a certain result. The result will  then either increase the change to the system or reduce it to bring the system back to normal.

-Feedback loops are important because they allow living organisms to maintain homeostasis (maintenance of internal environment of the body constant).

-A positive feedback loop occurs in nature when the product of a reaction leads to an increase in that reaction.  It moves a system further away from the target of equilibrium, by amplifying the effects of a product or event and occurs when something needs to happen quickly.

What characteristic do all organisms in the phylum chordata share?
Sophie [7]

Answer: Notochord,Nerve cord, pharyngeal gills

Explanation:

1.Presence of notochord that gives them skeletal support this also develops into between Column in vetertebrates.

2.presence of dorsal hollow nerve cord that develops into the brain and spinal cord which is the nervous system. develops into the central nervous system

3.presence of pharyngeal slit that develops into gills in some aquatic organism and its develops into jaw in some mammals. The gills is use for removal of water that enters the mouth while feeding.

In a two-compartment model of a cell with a K - and Cl --permeable membrane and a 10-fold excess of KCl in the inside compartmen
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

When the solutions (including inside and outside) were replaced by NaCl, the membrane potential changes from a negative value of -60 mV to a positive value of + 60 mV.

Explanation:

According to the Nernst equation the potential of the membrane for a two-compartment model of a cell for positive gradient of K⁺ ions is V = - 60 mVlogK'/K where K' = inside concentration of K⁺ ions and K = outside concentration of K⁺ ions. For a 10 fold excess of KCl in the inside compartment, K'/K = 10. So,

V = - 60 mVlogK'/K = - 60 mVlog10 = -60 mV.

For a negative gradient of Na ions is V = + 60 mVlogK'/K where K' = inside concentration of Na⁺ ions and K = outside concentration of Na⁺ ions. (Since the cell is selectively permeable to Na⁺ ions. So, Na ions to not flow out but in.)For a 10 fold excess of NaCl in the inside compartment, K'/K = 10. So,

V = + 60 mVlogK'/K = + 60 mVlog10 = +60 mV.

So, when the solutions (including inside and outside) were replaced by NaCl, the membrane potential changes from a negative value of -60 mV to a positive value of + 60 mV.

Hemoglobin is a protein that binds to oxygen. It is only produced by red blood cells and it allows blood to transport oxygen thr
Ksenya-84 [330]

The statements are true.

Hemoglobin (Hb), is the oxygen-transport metalloprotein which contains iron in the centre of its structure. This metalloprotein is found in the red blood cells (erythrocytes). The function of hemoglobin is to transport the oxygen through the blood carries from the lungs to the rest of the tissues. Oxygen is necessary for the aerobic respiration in order to provide energy for the functions of the organism (metabolism).
