The height of the rocket is modeled by the function:

f(t)=-16 t^{2}+80t

If we observe this equation, we see that the function is quadratic. The shape of the quadratic function is parabolic and the maximum or minimum value of a parabola always lies at its vertex. In the given function, since the co-efficient of leading term (t²) is negative, so this parabola will have a maximum value at its vertex.

The vertex of parabola is given by:

( \frac{-b}{2a}, f( \frac{-b}{2a}))

b is the coefficient of t term. So b = 80
a is the coefficient of squared term. So a= - 16

So,

\frac{-b}{2a}= \frac{-80}{2(-16)}= \frac{5}{2}=2.5

This means at 2.5 sec the height of rocket will be maximum. The maximum height will be:

f(2.5)=-16 (2.5)^{2}+80(2.5)=100

Therefore, the maximum height of the rocket will be 100 feet.

the perimeter of a rectangular parking lot is 306 M if the length of the parking lot is 82 M what is its width
salantis [7]

Answer:

71 M

Step-by-step explanation:

to find the perimeter you need to add up all the sides (length and width)

in this case they already gave you the perimeter: 306

and the length: 82

there are two sides that are the length so you need to do 82x2 which is 164

now you need to subtract 306-164=142

142 is the sum of the two width but its asking for only one side so 142 divided by 2 is 71

Answer:

x² + 1 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

You can form any with discriminant negative (B²-4AC < 0)

An example could be:

x² + 1 = 0

x² = -1 which has no real roots/solutions

Lines DE and AB intersect at point C. What is the value of x? A) 12 B) 25 C) 38 D) 52
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

∠ACE and ∠ECB form a straight angle whose sum = 180°, hence

2x + 2 + 5x + 3 = 180

7x + 5 = 180 ( subtract 5 from both sides )

7x = 175 ( divide both sides by 7 )

x = 25 → C
