Answer:

Spica cast is used to keep the pelvis and bones of the thigh still so they can get healed. It helps in maintaining the hip joint bones in an appropriate position. It covers the waist, the legs, and the section of abdomen. It is generally applied for a period of six weeks to three months.

The spica casts are generally used for the infants suffering from hip dysplasia, and for young children who have had pelvic or hip surgery. In case of an infant with spica cast, there is a need to elevate the head and shoulders of the child with pillows when he or she is positioned on the bedpan.

This will inhibit urine from getting backward and within the cast. A cloth pad or a gauze or a small folder towel should be put on the back rim of a bedpan, which will assist in absorbing any moisture and keeping the cast dry.

Spica casts or body casts are used to treat children who have hip, pelvis, or leg problems, such as developmental dysplasia of the hips. When elevating the head of an infant in a spica cast the nurse should use pillows to elevate the head and shoulders of the infant. Spica cast is not a surgical procedure but normally used after a surgical procedure for hip dysplasia.

The 14 different species of finches in the galapagos islands originated from a single ancestral species. what is it about these
Daniel [21]
These islands have different ecologies and most are not connected to each other by landmass. Therefore, the organism adapt to each of the different ecologies on their islands. These populations were physically separated due to lack of connection to each other and would not breed randomly. They therefore formed different species by allopatric speciation.

Which phase of mitosis is shown in the diagram
Lorico [155]

If there's this picture in the question, the right answer is metaphase.

A metaphase qualifies a phase of meiosis or mitosis (following prophase and preceding anaphase) during which chromosomes, or at least kinetochores, align with the equatorial plate of the spindle. At this stage, chromosomes are at their maximum condensation and karyotypes are usually established. In the first division of meiosis, the metaphase represents the phase during which meiotic analysis is usually accomplished.
