Answer:

See the concepts below

Explanation:

Government fuel efficiency standards for vehicles have been generally slightly low for many years. Between the years 1973-1985 the average fuel efficiency for new vehicles sold in the U.S. increase considerable, because the government create new laws for the corporate average fuel economy.

Gasoline is much higher then is paid because the costs associated to the pollution control and other things liket military protection of oil supplies in some areas, time wasted, and costs associated from air and water pollution in the form of higher medical costs.

Fee-bate represent a program in "which buyers of fuel inefficient cars would pay a high fee, and the resulting revenue would be given to buyers of efficient cars as rebates "

Hybrid: is an energy efficient gasoline-electric car. "Use a small traditional gasoline-powered engine and a battery-powered electric motor used to provide the energy needed for acceleration and power".

Plug-in hybrid: is defined as "a hybrid with a second and more powerful battery that can be plugged into an electrical outlet and recharged anytime".

Fuel cell motor: "is more efficient thn combustion engines, having no moving parts, requiring little maintenance, and use hydrogen gas as a fuel to produce electricity"

Living roofs:  "green roof or living roofs, also known as a grass roof or living roof, is a growing trend. Architects can put roots down in the most expected of places and is a roof that is covered in plants, which reduces stormwater run-off and lowers cooling costs".

And the importance of white or light colored roof is that reflect away heat rays from the sun, and we have less heat absorption.

LED bulbs "require much less wattage than CFL or Incandescent light bulbs, and that's the reason why LEDs are more energy-efficient and longer lasting than their competitors".

A compact fluorescent (CFL) "eliminates three-fourths of the mercury pollution of a traditional light bulb: 3.3 mg versus 13.6 mg and using CFLs reduces the amount of mercury outside to the air and surface water and that's to important to the environment"

Green building, is a sustainable design, and is a "method to increase the efficiency using the energy from the buildings, water, other materials, and this techinique reduce impacts on human activities and environment".

List six ways in which you can save energy where you live.

Adjust your day-to-day behaviors reducing the amount of energy consumed.

Replace your light bulbs with LED lights.

Use smart power strips, removing the vampire concumption.

Reduce the water heating expenses.

Change the system of energy of your house

Use other types of energies to satisfy the requirments.

Give three reasons why we waste so much energy.

The weighted-average cost of capital for a firm with a 65/35 debt/equity split, 8% pre-tax cost of debt, 15% cost of equity, and
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

weighted-average cost of capital is 11.57 %

Explanation:

Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) is the return that is required by providers of long term permanent sources of capital.

WACC = Weight of Equity × Cost of Equity + Weight of Debt × After tax cost of debt.

where,

After tax cost of debt = interest × ( 1 - tax rate)

                                     = 8% × (1 - 0.35)

                                     = 5.20 %

Therefore,

WACC = 0.65 × 15% + 0.35 × 5.20 %

           = 11.57 %

A company purchased inventory on January 1, 20X2, for $600,000, and uses the FIFO method. On December 31, 20X2, the inventory ha
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

See below

Explanation:

It is to be noted that under IFR, inventories are carried at a lower of cost or net realizable value, which is $550,000 in this scenario.

Also, under the United states GAAP, inventories are carried at a lower of cost or market . Here, the replacement cost of $525,000 would be used because it is below NRV and its equal to the difference between NRV and normal profit margin.

Determine the price in period 1 (the future) if 30 units of oil are consumed in period 0 (the present).
Dovator [93]

Answer:

$16.50

Explanation:

Note: The complete question is attached as picture below

We know that there is a total of 90 units of oil and 30 units is consumed in period 0.

So, in period 1, the consumption amount will be = 90-30=60 units.

So, Q1 = 192 - 8P

For 60 units, the price will be 60 = 192 - 8P

8P = 192 - 60

8P = 132

P = 132 / 8

P = 16.5

So, the price in period 1 is $16.50

Lupo Corporation uses a job-order costing system with a single plantwide predetermined overhead rate based on machine-hours. The
Ugo [173]

Answer:

$2,880

Explanation:

Given that,

Total machine-hours = 30,300

Total fixed manufacturing overhead cost = $ 575,700

Variable manufacturing overhead per machine-hour = $ 4.00

For Job T687:

Number of units in the job = 10

Total machine-hours = 30

Direct materials = $730

Direct labor cost = $1,460

Total variable overhead estimated:

= Variable manufacturing overhead per machine-hour × Total machine-hours

= $4 × 30,300

= $121,200

Total overhead estimated:

= Total variable overhead estimated + Total fixed overhead estimated

= $121,200 + $575,700

= $696,900

Predetermined overhead rate:

= Total overhead estimated ÷ Total machine-hours

= $696,900 ÷  30,300

= $23 per machine hour

Total overhead applied:

= predetermined overhead rate × Total machine hours for Job T687

= $23 × 30

= $690

Total job cost:

= Direct material + Direct labor + Total overhead

= $730 + $1,460 + $690

= $2,880
