Perimeter = 2(Length) + 2(Width)

300 = 2L + 2W → 150 = L + W → 150 - L = W

Area = Length · Width

A_{max} = L(150 - L) → A_{max} = 150L - L²

There are 2 different methods for solving (depending on which math course you are taking).

<u>Calculus</u>: find the derivative, set it equal to zero, and solve for L.

A_{max} = 150L - L² → 0 = 150 - 2L → 2L = 150 → L = 75

<u>Algebra</u>: find the vertex.

A_{max} = - L² + 150L → L = -b/2a → L = -150/2(-1) → L = 75

Once you solve for L, plug it into the Perimeter equation to solve for W:

150 - L = W → 150 - 75 = W → W = 75

Answer: 75ft x 75ft

Murrr4er [49]

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

<u />\pounds1=1.55 CHF

Multiply \pounds 145 by 1.55 to represent 145 pounds in Swiss Frances currency.

145 \times 1.55 = 224.75

<u>Compare:</u>

193.75 < 224.75

The watch in Geneva is cheaper.

<h3><u /></h3>

<u>How Much?</u>

Divide 193.75 CHF by 1.55

193.75 \div 1.55 = 125

<u>Subtract:</u>

145 - 125 = 20.

The watch is 20 Pounds cheaper.

Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

15

Step-by-step explanation:

Opposite sides in a parallelogram are equal.

2x - 5 = x + 10

Subtract x and add 5 on both sides.

2x - x = 10 + 5

Combine like terms.

x = 15

What is an equation of the line that passes through the points (-6, 5) and (6, 7)?
e-lub [12.9K]

Answer:

y=\frac{1}{6}x+6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let (x_1,y_1)\rightarrow(-6,5) and (x_2,y_2)\rightarrow(6,7)

<u>Determine slope</u>

<u />m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\\ \\m=\frac{7-5}{6-(-6)}\\ \\m=\frac{2}{6+6}\\ \\m=\frac{2}{12}\\ \\m=\frac{1}{6}

<u>Use either ordered pair to find the y-intercept</u>

<u />y=mx+b\\\\7=\frac{1}{6}(6)+b\\\\7=1+b\\\\6=b

<u>Final equation</u>

<u />y=\frac{1}{6}x+6
