Peppered moths after the industrial revolution showed the process of natural selection apex as the black moths were selected for when the trees turned black.
Before the industrial revolution trees were covered with lichens and thus, the white moths could easily camouflage against the backdrop covered with lichens and be safe from their predators.
However, when the industrialrevolution took place, the trees were covered with soot and now, the black moths were more suitable for being camouflaged against this dark background.
Thus, during the industrial revolution, black moths were selected when the trees turned black.
