Answer:

c. Like kids' he said scornfully. "Acting like a crowd of kids".

Explanation:

William Golding, a British writer and Nobel Prize winner wrote his "Lord of the Flies". It is about a group of stranded boys trying to govern themselves on an island and surviving by themselves until rescue comes.

In chapter 2: Fire on the Mountain, Ralph, the 'chief' of the group can be seen suggesting they make a smoke signal so that any passing ship may see it and rescue them. This is in the interest of everyone's safety and sure rescue, which Piggy did not wholly support. For him, he thinks that it is best to be organised first and then think of the rest. For his part, he thinks that making of the smoke signal can be done later. So, when they all went to the top of the mountain to make the smoke signal Piggy thinks that thy are Like kids' he said scornfully. "Acting like a crowd of kids", which best describes his feelings after the boys head up the mountain to build a fire.

What topic is Ivan Ilyich thinking about in this excerpt from Leo Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich?
BlackZzzverrR [31]
The topic that Ivan Ilyich is thinking about here is his approaching death. He is in pain, but he is trying to occupy himself with work so as not to think about the pain he is feeling. This pain leads him to think that he isn't going to live for a long time, and that his death is imminent, and closer than he thought. He is not ready to die, which is why he is scared and wants to forget about the fact that this is going to happen, whether he likes it or not.
