The horizontal yellow are is : 2(x+3) = 2x + 6

The vertical yellow are is : x(x+2+x) = x(2x+2) = 2x² + 2x

Total area = 2x + 6 + 2x² + 2x = 2x² +4x + 6 (answer B)

In the trapezoid below, x = [? ]
pantera1 [17]

if this trapezoid is to scale, then the scale factor between the shortest and longest side is 1.5

so, that means that 1.5(2x+6) = 4x+2

so, your equation becomes 3x+9 = 4x+2

if you subtract 2 from each side, you get 3x+7 = 4x

meaning that x = 7

i hope this helps, and i'm sorry if it's wrong!! :)
