Answer: d. both a and b.

Explanation:

Soaps are cleansing agents. These are composed of salts and fatty acids. The soaps functions as degerming agents and surfactants.

A surfactant is a molecule which consists of a lipophilic end which basically attracts the grease and dirt. The other end is the hydrophilic which makes the dirt and grease molecules dissolve in water. This way functions as important cleansing agent.

A degerming agent is the one which removes the microbes over the surface mechanically.

Thus soaps play dual role in cleansing as well as sterilization.

What does the cell wall do
djyliett [7]
A cell wall is a structural layer that surrounds some types of cells, situated outside the cell membrane. It can be tough, flexible, and sometimes rigid. It provides cells with both structural support and protection, and also acts as a filtering mechanism. Cell walls are present in plants, fungi and prokaryotic cells, where a major function is to act as pressure vessels, preventing over-expansion when water enters the cells. Cell walls are absent from mycoplasmas.
