William Lloyd Garrison, (born December 10, 1805, Newburyport, Massachusetts, U.S. and died May 24, 1879, New York, New York),was a prominent American abolitionist, journalist, suffragist, and social reformer. He is best known as the editor of the abolitionist newspaper The Liberator, which he founded with Isaac Knapp in (1831-65) and published in Massachusetts until slavery was abolished by Constitutional amendment after the American Civil War. He was one of the founders of the American Anti-Slavery Society, and promoted "immediate emancipation" of slaves in the United States.

How did british companies treat american customers after the revolution

Before the Revolution, British companies policies became stricter which benefited the mother country at the same time it limited the colonies growth. Also, these American colonies had to help pay the debt resulted from the  French and Indian War. <u>After the Revolution, both countries realized that they both needed each other for trade and commerce and that they shared a common heritage and language which made them treat each other quite well. </u><u>However, Britain did still often kidnap American sailors and force them to serve in the British Navy which led to the War of 1812.</u>
