This line is uttered by Montague before he realizes Romeo is dead. He knows his son is now exiled, and the grief over the exile has killed his wife. Heartbroken over her death, he asks what other tragedies are waiting for him. Immediately after, he discovers Romeo, and the tragic outcome of his love affair with Juliet.
