Neap tides are formed during the moon's last quarter phase.

Neal tides is the result difference of high and low tides. They are really weak tides, and they occur when the sun and the moons gravity forces, along with the Earth, are perpendicular to each other.

Which answer accurately describes people's perceptions of the environment over the past century?
alekssr [168]

Answer:

The correct answer is D

Explanation:

During the 20th century, there was an increasing interest in the environment. The impact of human activity on the environment has been observed locally since centuries. Pollution of canals and chimneys in crowded urban areas etc were all causes of concern.

However, with a better understanding of our earth and increase in Medical knowledge of the 20th century, we could observe how our activities were having a global impact on the ozone layer and the melting ice caps.

Evidence was also provided on how human health was affected by this. The use of fossil fuels was not only directly damaging to the atmosphere, it was also dangerous for humans e.g. carbon monoxide produced by car emissions.

Tommy and Erin are building a skateboard ramp. They want the ramp to be 3 feet tall and 5 feet long.
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

Full question is attached.

Tommy's reasoning is wrong because the hypotenuse is not 5 feet.

A skateboard ramp resembles a right angles triangle so its sides resemble that of a right angled triangle.

The height of 3 feet would be the height of the triangle.

The length of 5 feet would be the length of the triangle.

The piece of plywood that would cover the top of the frame would be the hypotenuse.

In using the Pythagoras rule, the c is the hypotenuse but Tommy made the mistake of assuming that the hypotenuse was b which is where the error came from.

Instead of solving for b, they should have been solving for c which is the hypotenuse.

a² + b² = c²

3² + 5² = c²

9 + 25 = c²

c² = 34

c = √34

c = 5.83 feet

They should use a plywood of 5.83 feet not 4 feet.

Describe how the doppler effect allows us to see the movement of distant stars
ycow [4]

Answer:

In fact, any relative motion between the two will cause a Doppler shift/ effect in the frequency observed. ... If stars and galaxies are travelling away from us, the apparent frequency of the light they emit decreases and their colour will move towards the red end of the spectrum.
