His name was Frederick Winslow Taylor (1856-1915). His Production Efficency Theory emphasis was of gaining efficiency from machine and worker to benefit the worker himself and management. This sets the basis for what is called today as Taylorism.

Taylorism evaluates every step in a manufacturing process (large assmbly-line factories) breaking it into specialized repetitive tasks. Repetitive tasks should simplify and optimize jobs and therefore productivity would increase. This helps any business grow and in this way motivate workers to earn money accordingly for the work done.
