Which piece of dialogue from Leslie Marmon Silko’s story "The Man to Send Rain Clouds" best illustrates that Christian rites are

not important to Leon or his community?
A.“Thank God for that. Teofilo is a very old man. You really shouldn’t allow him to stay at the sheep camp alone.” “No, he won’t do that any more now.”

B.The priest dragged a chair out of the kitchen and offered it to Leon. “No thank you, Father. I only came to ask you if you would bring your holy water to the graveyard.”

C.“‘Why didn’t you tell me he was dead? I could have brought the Last Rites anyway.” Leon smiled. “It wasn’t necessary, Father.”

D. Leon put on his green cap and pulled the flaps down over his ears. “It’s getting late, Father. I’ve got to go.” When Leon opened the door Father Paul stood up and said, "Wait."

Answer:

B.The priest dragged a chair out of the kitchen and offered it to Leon. “No thank you, Father. I only came to ask you if you would bring your holy water to the graveyard.”

Explanation:

"The Man to Send Rain Clouds" is a short story by American Indians compiled by the anthropologist Kenneth Rosen. It tells the story of the death of an old man Teolilo from the Laguna Pueblo tribe. Soon after the body was discovered by his grandson Leon and Ken, the husband of Leon's sister, they began preparing for it's burial. The story revolves round the conflicting spiritual traditions of the Indians and the Christian religion. Here, Leon doesn't think it is necessary to inform the local priest about his grandfather's death as the burial traditions aren't even similar. So, when his sister suggests that Father Paul sprinkle holy water on Teolilo, he only agrees because of the reason provided by Loiuse that their grandfather may not be thirsty in the afterlife. This is evident in the above dialogue where he said that he's come to the Father only to ask for the holy water and nothing else.

Which fact about food sanitation and foodborne illnesses did you think was most important to share with your family?
Romashka [77]
There isn't really a right answer to this, it's more opinion based. What did you cover in class? If its relating to foodborne illness and sanitation then you could say, "One fact that I thought was most important was to avoid cross contamination with certain foods like poultry or raw eggs"

Explain whether you agree of disagree about open book tests being more difficult than traditional tests. What can you do to bett
Lyrx [107]

I disagree of open book tests being harder than traditional tests; what is open book tests to you? On every answer do you get to cheat to use your book? I disagree, because on the final tests or the STAAR tests, you won't be using open book. What will you do then, if you only use open book? Traditional tests you won't have any book, not one. What will you do then, if you switched from always open books to a normal, better traditional test? Students need to be more prepared; schools can't let them cheat. Open book tests are just something the teachers give to their students to make it easier. This is why I believe open book tests are much easier than traditional tests, that is why I fully disagree when you say that Open Book tests are harder than traditional test.
