Music, like every other environmental factor, can change your emotions. Songs that represent or display certain emotions, like anger or sweetness, can change your emotions. On the other hand, it can intensify a person's current emotion, (ex: someone turns on cheerful music to feel better but in the end only feels worse off). If we're talking about it scientifically, sound waves can calm or create a disturbance in our mind, causing mood switches.

The priest sank down into the green chair and picked up a glossy missionary magazine. He turned the colored pages full of lepers
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer: While the priest seemed disinterested and implied he could not go with the man, he changed his mind at the last minute.

Explanation: When we first meet the priest, he is simply turning pages in the magazine. He then tells Leon that he is not able to attend because of improper protocol. But as Leon is getting up to leave, the priest tells him to wait, and comes back with a coat on. This shows us that the priest has had a change of heart and decided to go after all.

What is Nellie Bly's point of view about the plight of the poor and mentally ill and the attitudes of officials toward these peo
bearhunter [10]

Hello. You did not enter the text to which the question refers, which may leave the evidence of the answer a little inaccurate.

Answer and Explanation:

1. Nellie Bly affirms that the mentally ill are mistreated, abused and that there is no type of commitment from the employees in relation to the patients, since they are not concerned with their well-being, nor with their correct treatment, since the employees only care about testing new equipment, not caring about patients.

2. Bly uses humor and dramatic irony to be sarcastic about the situation she witnessed. In this case, she tends to give extremely acid information, which shows the mistreatment that she witnessed in the sanatorium, emitting ironic information that meant the opposite, that showed exaggeration, but that were punctual in showing how sanatoriums were uncompromising and cruel institutions. Adjectives, in this case, were used to describe the situations she witnessed and create realistic mental images for readers.

3. The opinions and information that Bly demonstrates shows that she was a journalist committed to the truth and to information, in addition to being extremely courageous and a person committed to social causes and justice to all individuals, especially those most fragile by society.

How are most adjectives changed into adverbs?
sveta [45]

Adjectives are the part of speech which qualifies the noun or pronoun. They may be placed before the qualifying word.

For example, this cute baby is eating an apple.

Whereas, adverbs refers to the set of words or word which qualifies the adjectives.

For example, the girls are speaking softly.

Hence, to form an adverb through adjective, they can be formed by adding –ly to the end of the word.

For example, they performed bad/badly in the exam

how did they perform? badly.

Hence, it is an adverb.

Why do humans turn to secrecy in order to solve their problems?
astraxan [27]

Answer:

A person may feel compelled to stay home to protect a family secret from exposure. Young people who feel they must protect parents or siblings from harm, public exposure, or humiliation may feel that their own emancipation needs to be delayed in an effort to shoulder the burden of a disturbing family secret.
