It begins in the high mountains of Tibet (southwestern China), flowing northwest through the Jammu & Kashmir region of India and Pakistan, then generally south through Pakistan, ending in the Arabian Sea. The Indus, through a series of dams and canals, provides much of the irrigation and power for central Pakistan.

Jamestown was one of the first settlements in North America, this settlement was located in Virginia, and it is believed it was the beginning of the colonization in North America.

This important event has been considered by experts as both positive, and negative. This is because:

Discovering and settling in this new territory was a huge advancement (Positive).
Settlers had opportunities that were not possible in Europe (Positive).
Native people from the area had to leave their territories and many died because of diseases brought by settlers (Negative).
Later, African people were taken as slaves to Jamestown and other territories (Negative)
