What were three reasons for the development of the slave trade?

History

 • Shortage of labour: The plantations that were established in America were extremely profitable. However, the population of the region was too small to supply the labor that was necessary to operate them (both in terms of Native Americans and Europeans). Therefore, African people fulfilled this role by providing cheap labor.
 • Resistance to disease: While many Native Americans died easily from European diseases, African people were more resistant to them because of the long history of contact between the two continents. This made them more resilient.
 • Ideas of racial superiority: Most slaveholders and slave traders believed African people to be inferior to Europeans, which allowed them to enslave them and treat them badly with little to no remorse.

Answer:

B) the Spanish, in that the colonists planned to establish colonies for increased political gain.

Explanation:

It has always been the aim of the new colonist to settle in Jamestown due to their quest to create alternative location. this would help them in becoming new economic area as was obtained in London, but unfortunately, it was not a successful adventure due to series of issues. Partly, due to their sour relationship with the natives, and partly due to majority being dead from starvation and diseases.

Winfield Scott's Address To The Cherokee Nation
Karolina [17]

He refers to his subordinate statement, he did not take the decisions, he only obeyed them. The moral implications of the policies of President Van Buren (and his predecessor Andrew Jackson) did not make those orders easy. But as a subordinate and not popularly elected, I had to obey them. Finding the best conditions for the Cherokee people was all he could do. In his instructions to the militia, he reminded them that any act of cruelty would become "an aberration to the generous sympathies of the American people" (many of whom, like John Quincy Adams, were against the transfer, blaming Southern politicians and the land usurpers ").
