The easiest way to find the expansion of the expression given would e to distribute. To distribute, you have to multiply each of the terms in the parentheses by 9. The expansion of the expression would be 9x + 18.

9 (x + 2)
9 · x = 9x
9 · 2 = 18
9x + 18

Hope this helps. Good luck! :)

Combination and permutation are two different things. In combination, the number of possible ways considered do not include the order of the elements as a factor. On the other hand, the order of elements in permutation is important. Using the calculator, 5C4 is equal to C.5

Jamal works as an electrician’s apprentice. He rewired 4 electrical outlets in 1 1/2 hours. If he works at the same pace for 7.5
Anna35 [415]

Answer: 20 outlets.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that Jamal rewired 4 electrical outlets in 1 1/2 hours. This time can be rewritten as a decimal:

(1+\frac{1}{2})hours=1.5hours

Then, if he works at the same pace for 7.5 hours you can calculate the number of outlets that he will rewire with:

\frac{1.5}{4}=\frac{7.5}{x}

Being "x" the number of outlets that Jamal will rewire.

Finally, you have to solve for "x":

\frac{1.5}{4}=\frac{7.5}{x}\\\\x(\frac{1.5}{4})=7.5\\\\x=(7.5)(\frac{4}{1.5})\\\\x=20

He will rewire 20 outlets.

Jon and Jim painted a fence.Jon painted 1-4 of the fence and Jim painted 5-12 of the fence. How much of the fence did they paint
pantera1 [17]
<span>Find the number of fence did Jon and Jim painted
Jon painted 1 – 4
Jim painted 5 – 12
<u>1 – 2 – 3 – 4</u> – <u>5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9 – 10 - 11 – 12</u>
- Jon                   - Jim
They painted a total of 12 fences. Because Jon started on paint in the first up to 4th fence and Jim started to paint on the 5th going to the 12th fence. Thus, the total of the fence they painted is still 12.
