The revolutions of 1848 (Known as Spring of Nations, People's Spring or Springtime of the Peoples in some countries) were triggered by street protests beginning in Silicy (in January 1948), an autonomous region of Italy. The wave of revolution that swept through Europe in 1948 is still the most pervasive revolutionary wave in the history of Europe.
