Using vivid imagery, describe a setting that has a suspenseful or frightening mood.

Here:

Shadows loomed in the grey atmosphere as the tree branches jutted into the pathway like the gnarly fingers of an old witch. A nearby crow cawed sullenly, breaking the otherwise intensely silent scenery as the boy glanced about. He was lost and utterly confused. A dark blob skittered a few yards ahead of him, his peripheral vision catching sight of the inhuman blur before it disappeared. With wide eyes, he took a deep, shaky breath and stepped forth again. A twig cracked under his foot and he cringed as a flurry of once statue-still birds flew into the midnight air. Pausing in his stride, the boy quickly turned his head to and fro in order to see or hear if the mysterious darkness offered a new surprise.

Lilit [14]

This question is incomplete, here´s the complete question.

Read "The Postmaster", by Tagore.

The story is about a postmaster who is trying to adapt to the new life in the village of Ulapur. In what way is the postmaster's life different from his life in urban Calcutta?

A. The postmaster disliked the people working in the indigo factory in the small village.

B. The postmaster finds it difficult to associate himself with the simple life and folk in the remote village of Ulapur.

C. The postmaster was too proud to adjust his life to the small village of Ulapur.

D. The postmaster did not like the green, slimy pond and dense growth near his office and living room.

Answer: B. The postmaster finds it difficult to associate himself with the simple life and folk in the remote village of Ulapur.

Explanation:

The postmaster seems to feel extremely out of place in Ulapur because he considers himself to belong to Calcutta. He also feels too sophisticated compared to the simple villagers and maybe too arrogant to the ones he wanted as friends. Furthermore, there´s not much to do in his new location. So he doesn´t have much company or activities to do.

* Help you guys please* Would you be willing to pay extra money to use nitrogen in your tires? Explain why or why not
Reika [66]

Yes, The main benefit of nitrogen-filled tires is that the loss of tire pressure is slower, because the gas in the tire escapes more slowly than air does. On existing tires, you'll pay up to $30 per tire for service to drain air and refill with N2.

You are my hero, Dad
You're my secure foundation.
When I think of you, I'm filled with love
And fond appreciation.

You make me feel protected;
I'm sheltered by your care.
You're always my true friend; and Dad,
When I need you, you're always there.

You have a place of honor
Deep within my heart.
You've been my superhero, Dad,
Right from the very start.
