Answer:

Hello, As long as the bird flu virus doesn't change into a human flu virus, it won't spread far in people. But sometimes after close personal contact a person who gets bird flu does infect another person. They can get the virus from tainted surfaces, such as cages and other farming equipment. Most people with the virus have had direct contact with infected poultry or objects contaminated with bird feces or secretions. Until now, very few cases of human-to-human transmission have occurred. Hope That Helps!

Answer:

In the presence of oxygen, a cell will always carry out aerobic respiration if it is capable of doing so.

Explanation:

Aerobic respiration can be described as a type of respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen. In the presence of oxygen, a cell will always prefer to carry out aerobic respiration as it produced more ATP as compared to anaerobic respiration.

Rough estimations have shown that almost 36 atoms of ATP are generated by the process of aerobic respiration. During this process, cells breakdown food in the mitochondria and undergoes the steps of glycolysis, citric acid cycle and electron transport chain to produce energy.

How does the cell recognize that lactose needs to be metabolized?
erastova [34]
Lactose metabolism is regulated by lac operon in prokaryotic cells. When in the environment lactose is present, the cell signals the presence of lactose and synthesizes the enzyme required for the degradation of lactose. Removal of lactose from the environment leads to the termination of the enzyme synthesis. Thus, the metabolism of lactose is environment dependent.

The metabolism of lactose is also dependent on the presence of glucose. Glucose is the favorite food for bacteria. If glucose and lactose both are present in the environment, the bacterial cells prefer glucose over lactose and lactose is not metabolized. In the absence of glucose, the cells will metabolize lactose.
