This act seeks to ensure that decisions pertaining to the environment are made in an integrated manner, in collaboration with appropriate authorities, non-governmental organizations and other persons, provides for preventive and remedial measures for the control and mitigation of all forms of environmental degradation or pollution, and promotes and encourages among all persons a better understanding and appreciation of the environment.
