The founding fathers wanted a democracy like the Greeks. The founding fathers were also inspired by the Romans ( that’s why we have a president, senate, etc.). To get to the point it’s because they didn’t want the government to be powerful over the people. This is why we have a 2nd amendment. People don’t know this but the 2nd amendment is so we can make a militia if the government became tyrannical.
