Which statement BEST describes the goals of Mikhail Gorbechev'?s policies of perestroika and glasnost
Ludmilka [50]

Gorbachev's best statement about perestroika is that without a perestroika, the cold war would simply not be complete. But the world could not  continues to evolve, as it was, with a sharp threat of a nuclear war.

In order to reform the relaxed Soviet Union, the democratization of the Communist Party was promoted through the policy of Mikhail Gorbachev's party "perestroika" and "glasnost". Perestroika refers to the reconstruction of the political and economic system founded by the Communist Party.

Prestroika means reformation, and volume means openness. The openness is primarily reflected in relations with the West, which gave a major contribution to the end of the Cold War.

What was Abraham Lincoln's reasoning when he refused to let the southern states secede?
g100num [7]

For Lincoln, allowing American democracy to succeed was compatible with the ideal of freedom; allowing secessionists to destroy it (in response to a democratic election) was not.  In other words, Lincoln did not believe that true freedom was letting states do their own thing--and letting the pillars of American constitutional democracy run amok--but instead, in maintaining a union where the great experiment of democracy could flourish.  As Lincoln himself said quite clearly in the Gettysburg Address, he was  committed to making sure "...that government of the people, by the  people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."  I suppose you can argue that Lincoln's vision of freedom was not worth the price, but you cannot deny that he had a vision of freedom--and that, for him, this vision was compatible with maintaining the historic, unprecedented political freedom that was achieved in 1776.

On what factor was the stratification system of the old soviet union based?
vladimir1956 [14]
The stratification factor in the old soviet union was based on the position that one held in the communist party. The communist party controlled power,politics, and religion. There was therefore practically no any other way that the stratification would be based.

Answer:

Protagonist = Kyle

Antagonist = Zombies

Conflict = Man vs. Man

Explanation:

The zombies are the opposition to Kyle's survival, and therefore, as Kyle is the protagonist, they are the antagonists. The conflict does not have to do with nature (unless the story goes in the direction of a viral infection), nor does it have to do with societal problems  or conflicts within Kyle. Therefore, it is not man vs. society or man vs. self. That leaves man vs. man as the conflict type.
