The one that was not supported by the us home front and was not contained was Vietnam. both war were to stop the spread of communism. Vietnam was the dominate issue of the 1968 and 1972 presidential debates. pres. Johnson plan failed because of the Vietnam war. the us got help from the united nations for the Korean war.
