To the best of my knowledge, this is what I gather the table's values mean:

"antibodies present" and "positive" give you the percent of people who had the antibodies and the tests showed they did (hence, positive).

"antibodies present" and "negative" give you the percent of people who did have the antibodies, yet the tests read otherwise (misdiagnosed, negative when it should be positive).

"antibodies not present" and "positive" also show a percentage of people who were misdiagnosed. these people did not have the antibodies yet they tested positive for them.

"antibodies not present" and "negative" show the percent of people who did not have the antibodies and who were tested to prove just that.

butalik [34]

Answer:

Maria's string is 45 cm long and Katy's string is 39 cm long

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call the size of Maria's string X, and the size of Katy's string Y.

So, using the information from the problem, we can formulate a system of equations:

If Maria's string is 6 cm longer than Katy's, so:

X = Y + 6

If the strings together have 84 cm, so:

X + Y = 84

The first equation can be rewritten as X - Y = 6

Summing up both equation, we have that:

2X = 90

X = 45

Using X value in the first equation, we have that:

45 = Y + 6

Y = 39

So, Maria's string is 45 cm long and Katy's string is 39 cm long

A briefcase has a three-digit lock code that does not include zero as a digit.
Sladkaya [172]
First it can be a 2,4,6,8. Four numbers.
Then one is removed, leaving three numbers.
Then one is removed, leaving two numbers.
Possibilities for that to happen: 4*3*2 = 24.
Total amount of possibilities: 9*8*7 = 504.
So the answer is A: 24 out of 504.
