The word turkey is said to come from the Hebrew word "tukki" which means peacock. The genus name for turkey is meleagris meaning guinea fowl. The turkey has always been mistaken either as the peafowl that comes from Asia or that guinea fowl from Africa.Many believe that the name "turkey" is taken from the turkey's call that is "turk, turk, turk". Even until the 18th century, the debate on how the name of turkey come into being still continues. There has been a lot of presentations on how this name is derived up until now.

The classification of rocks into three major categories is based on
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

On their mode of formation

Explanation:

The classification of rocks into three major categories is strictly based on their mode of formation.

Rocks are naturally formed aggregates of minerals. Based on mode of formation, they can be classified into;

  • Igneous rocks: these rocks are formed by the cooling and solidification of molten magma.
  • Sedimentary rocks are formed by the compaction and lithification of sediment.
  • Metamorphic rocks: these are changed rocks that have been formed by subjecting rocks to pressure and temperature conditions which causes an alteration of their minerology.
