See explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Statement                                                           Reasons

1) \overline{DC} \cong \overline{BC}1)Given

2) \angle CED \cong \angleD          2)Given

3) \overline{CE} \cong \overline{CD}

and \triangle CED is isosceles      3)Converse of the Base Angle Thm.

4) \overline{CE} \cong \overline{CE}4) Reflexive Property

5) \overline{CE} \cong \overline{BC} 5) Transitive Property

6) \angle CBE \cong \angle CEB

and \triangle CBE is isosceles        6) Base Angle Theorem

I'm going to write my statements and reasons in order below just in case it isn't readable on your computer from above.

Statements:

1) \overline{DC} \cong \overline{BC}

2)  \angle CED \cong \angleD

3)  \overline{CE} \cong \overline{CD}

and \triangle CED is isosceles

4) \overline{CE} \cong \overline{CE}

5) \overline{CE} \cong \overline{BC}

6)  \angle CBE \cong \angle CEB

and \triangle CBE is isosceles

Reasons:

1) Given

2) Given

3) Converse of the Base Angle Theorem

4) Reflexive property

5) Transitive property

6) Base Angle Theorem

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whenever I start a two-column proof, I state me givens.

I applied the converse of the base angle theorem because we were given two angles in the triangle CED that were congruent. By this theorem, if two angles are congruent, then their opposite legs are congruent. So also by this theorem; if you can apply it, then you have an isosceles triangle.

Both triangles shared the side CE is why I used the reflexive property.

I knew CE and CD were congruent by the theorem I stated in reasons: 3 (converse of the base angle theorem).

I also had that in my given that DC=BC. So by transitive property, I could conclude that CE=BC.

This is when I finally used the base angle theorem to conclude that the opposite angles of those congruent legs in triangle CBE were congruent.

The base angle theorem says if two legs in a triangle are congruent, then the opposite angles of those legs are congruent.  So you can conclude from this theorem; if is applicable which it was here, that the triangle is an isosceles.

How are the two angles below related? A) Drawing not to scale. B) complementary .C) supplementary. D) adjacent. E) vertical
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

Option C) supplementary

Step-by-step explanation:

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

we know that

If two angles are supplementary, then their sum is equal to 180 degrees

In this problem

The measure of angles are

60° and 120°

Their sum is equal to

60° + 120°=180°

therefore

The two angles are supplementary

A plane intersects a double-napped cone so that it contains the generating line.
mr Goodwill [35]

To understand this picture 2 cones that are stacked one on top of another. A double-napped cone is created when a generator is rotated about a fixed vertical axis. A line is created when the cone is cut by a plane containing the generator. Please see the attachment to help you understand this.

I hope this helps, Regards.

An architect wants an artistic flair to the house he is building, so he designs windows that are three fourths of a circle in sh
larisa86 [58]

The amount of rim needed for each window is 141.4 in

<h3>How to find the length of the outer rim?</h3>

Since the outer rim is the length of an arc, we use the formula for length of an arc of a circle.

<h3>What is an arc?</h3>

An arc is part of section of the circumference of a circle

<h3>What is the length of an arc?</h3>

So, length of arc, L = Ф/360 × 2πR where

  • Ф = central angle of arc and
  • R = radius of circle.

Gven that for the window rim

  • Ф = angle of the rim = 270° and
  • R = radius of the rim = 30 in

Substituting the values of the variables into the equation for L, we have

L = Ф/360 × 2πR

L = 270°/360° × 2π × 30 in

L = 3/4 × 2π × 30 in

L = 3/2 × π × 30 in

L = 3 × π × 15 in

L = 45π in

L = 141.37 in

L ≅ 141.4 in

So, the amount of rim needed for each window is 141.4 in
