1) Father fixed the broken window Pane (a)

A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning. The term derives from the greek <em>"homo"-"same" </em>and <em>"phone"-"voice".</em> In the question above we have Pane that means crystal and pain that means suffering. The words may be spelled the same and are also homographs and homonyms or differently as the options mentioned and are also known as heterographs.

2) A dramatic monologue is a poem in wich a speaker other than the poet addresses a listener who speaks in reply (c).

Dramatic monologues are written in the form of a speech of an individual character. According to the literary critic M.H. Abrams there are three main features in a dramatic monologue:

  1. The speaker is not the poet and delivers the speech in a critical moment of the play.
  2. This person addresses and interacts with oner or more people but we, as the audience, don´t hear the replies. We must assume what the listener said only from clues in the discourse of the single speaker.
  3. The main sense of the poet´s choice is to reveal to the audience the speaker´s character and way of thinking in a manner that catch the attention.

3) In the sentence: "The man who liked to joke around with the Middletons was Fat Driscoll." There are no interrupter (d).

An interrupter is a word, phrase, or clause that <u>signicantly</u> breaks the flow of a sentence. Generally interrupters are separated from the rest of the sentence by commas, one in front and one in behind.

An interrupter is something that you can remove from the sentence and the meaning will not be alter. In the question above any removal of a clause  will change the meaning of the sentence.

I hope the answer help you. Regards

Answer:

I believe it is: Li's speech is more effective because it uses visuals of maps and timelines.

Explanation:

Li gave evidence of freedom. While Jackie just repeated phrases over and over again. Jackie's Speech could've sounded like this:

"Freedom is good. Freedom gives people opportunities. Freedom is good because it gives people opportunities. Freedom makes people happy. Freedom is good to make people happy."

Do you see how boring that is? Jackie is just repeating over and over again that "freedom is good."

On the other hand, Li could have something like this: (Please note I just made up the dates to state my point)

"Back in 1745, slaves were kept as.. well slaves. It was not right. So Abraham Lincoln decided to free them. (Here Li would show a graph of how happy the African Americans became after they were free.) Do you see how the happy bar increased?"

Li's speech is waaay more interesting. I hope I have helped! :)

Write a story that includes all of the following
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

ight bet

Explanation:

Jess Walker looked at the smart phone in her hands and felt irritable.

She walked over to the window and reflected on her snooty surroundings. She had always loved industrial Chicago with its puny, panicky parks. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel irritable.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of Kayla Smith. Kayla was a two faced devil in disguise with ginger hair and a pretty face.

Jess gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was a small, kind, beer drinker with skinny arms and plump cheeks. Her friends saw her as an adventurous, alive angel. Once, she had even helped a police officer cross the road.

But not even a person who had once helped a police officer cross the road, was prepared for what Kayla had in store today.

The rain hammered like skipping cow, making Jess angry.

As Jess stepped outside and Kayla came closer, she could see the greasy smile on her face.

Kayla glared with all the wrath of a rude clumsy cat. She said, in hushed tones, "I hate you."

Jess looked back, even more angry and still fingering the sharp smart phone. "Kayla, get out of my house," she replied.

They looked at each other with worried feelings, like two dull, damaged dog running at a very optimistic party, which had R & B music playing in the background and two understanding uncles walking to the beat.

Jess regarded Kayla's ginger hair and pretty face. "I feel the same way!" revealed Jess with a delighted grin.

Kayla looked cross, her emotions blushing like a knotty, knowing knife.

Then Kayla came inside for a nice drink of beer.

THE END
