Correct answer choice is:

C. Persuading the French to aid the colonies in the war.

Explanation:

In December 1776, Franklin was assigned to France as the leading U.S. Ambassador. He performed a conspicuous part in the construction of obstinate associations between America and France. French support was effective in the triumph of American colonies over Great Britain in the Revolutionary War. Franklin was one of the delegates from the U.S. who endorsed the Treaty of Paris in 1783, which with other circumstances caused the conflict to a terminal and gave Britain support U.S. colonies as independent, sovereign and autonomous states. In particular, Franklin is the exclusive Founding Father who is a signatory of complete four significant papers of the establishing of U.S.: the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Alliance with France, the Treaty of Paris and the United States Constitution.
