In what direction did the ancient people travel when they crossed the land bridge
scoray [572]
The ancient people were moving west.

The bridge that you are referring to was called the Bering land bridge which is now the Bering Strait. During the Ice age, though this area was covered in ice which made the sea levels drop and emerged the land bridge, the land bridge was covered with grasses and low shrubs which provided food for the mammoth, horses, caribou, and bison. It is believed that the ancient people followed these grazing animals from beringia (which is now SIberia)  and into America, they are believed to be the first inhabitants of America. Over time the weather got warmer and the glaciers started melting and the bridge started disappearing into what we now call the Bering strait this all happened about 11,600 years ago

Which regions outside of Israel were controlled by Israel under King David? :(
kirill115 [55]

Outside Israel King David waged successful wars and ordered neighboring states from Damascus and Moab to the Red Sea to exercise his supreme authority. However, he failed to conquer the cities of the Philistines.

Explanation:

  • He conquered Jerusalem, chose it as the capital of the kingdom, transmitted there the Ark of the Covenant, fortified it and built it.
  • He organized a civilian administration and a standing Israeli army.
  • In several wars, he defeated the Philistines and other neighboring tribes (Ammonites, Syrians, etc.) and extended the borders of his kingdom.

Why did the United Nations update the Geneva Convention in 1949?
Bas_tet [7]
Although warfare has changed dramatically since the Geneva Conventions of 1949, they are still considered the cornerstone of contemporary international humanitarian law. They protect combatants who find themselves hors de combat, and they protect civilians caught up in the zone of war.
