x + x-5 + x +23 = 180

 combine like terms:

3x +18 = 180

 subtract 18 from each side:

3x = 162

divide both sides by 3

x = 162 / 3 = 54

Angle x = 54 degrees

 Angle x-5 = 54-5 = 49 degrees

Angle x +23 = 54 +23 = 77 degrees

How to tell if an equation is linear without graphing
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

A linear equation has the greatest x power at 1.

If you see an equation with only x (no x^2 or x^3 or stuff like that), you will know that it is linear.

If f(x) = x^4-x^3+x^2 and g(x)= -x^2, where x does not = 0, what is (f/g)(x)?
Korvikt [17]

For this case we have the following functions:

f (x) = x ^ 4-x ^ 3 x ^ 2\\g (x) = - x ^ 2

By definition of composition of functions we have to:(f \ g) (x) = \frac {f (x)} {g (x)}

So:

\frac {f (x)} {g (x)} = \frac {x ^ 4-x ^ 3 x ^ 2} {- x ^ 2} = \frac {x ^ 4} {- x ^ 2} +\frac {-x ^ 3} {- x ^ 2}+ \frac {x ^ 2} {- x ^ 2} =

By definition of division of powers of the same base we have to place the same base and subtract the exponents:

\frac {f (x)} {g (x)} = - x ^ 2+x-1

ANswer:

(\frac {f} {g}) (x) = - x ^ 2 +x-1

What is the approximate area of a circle with a radius of 10 in?
yKpoI14uk [10]

<em></em>\huge\boxed{\textsf{A.}\ 78.5\ \text{in}^2}

<em></em>

<em>Correction to your question text: diameter, not radius.</em>

The area of a circle is given by:

A=\pi r^2

The radius is half of the diameter.

A=\pi\cdot\left(\dfrac{10}{2}\right)^2

Substitute and solve.

\begin{aligned}A&=\pi\cdot\left(\frac{10}{2}\right)^2\\&=\pi\cdot5^2\\&=\pi\cdot25\\&\approx\boxed{78.5}\end{aligned}
