In what way did the Transportation Revolution alter America. Use at least 3 examples.
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

The Transportation Revolution in the United States is usually stated to have occurred between 1800 and 1840 and completely changed the country forever.

It wad lead by the introducing of the turnpikes, the development of the Clermont steamboats and the introduction of the railroads. These 3 were very important in the development of the American economy in the 19th Century.

Explanation:

1. Development of a local commercial market: Due to poor inland transport network, the United States had a poor domestic economy where most of the wealth was concentrated in a couple of States. With better transport links, it was easier and cheaper to transport goods within the country.

This lead to the development of a large domestic market for all kinds of products.

2. Westward migration: Settling in the Western country was usually seen as risky and cumbersome. While the land was cheap, it was completely disconnected from other parts of the country. Better transportation meant, better connectivity, which encouraged more and more people to settle in new places.

3. Geo-Political: Better transport also made it easier for the United States government to expand westwards. While, earlier, maintaining the write of the government in a sparsely populated area was seen as difficult - things were gradually changing.
