The American revolutionary war ended with the treaty of Paris, and this treaty was negotiated by, John Jay,John Adams, , Benjamin Franklin with the representatives of King George third of Great Britain. With the treaty of Paris the British monarch recognised the american independence and cede the territory of Mississippi river to the US. The Mississippi river formed the western border of US. It doubled the size of the new nation and paved way fro the Westward expansion of US.
