Consider the equation \dfrac{1}{3}(n+1)=\dfrac{1}{6}(3n-5).

1 step. Multiply this equation by 6:

\dfrac{6}{3}(n+1)=\dfrac{6}{6}(3n-5),\\ 2(n+1)=3n-5,\\2n+2=3n-5.

2 step. Separate expressions in such way, that variables are in the left side and the numbers are in the right side:

2n-3n=-5-2.

3 step. Add expressions in both sides:

n\cdot (2-3)=-(5+2),\\-1\cdot n=-7,\\-n=-7.

4 step. Multiply this equaiton by -1:

n=7.

Answer: n=7.

1/3(n+1)=1/6(3n-5)
1/3n+1/3 = 1/2n-5/6
1/3 = 1/6n - 5/6
7/6 = 1/6n
so n = (7/6) / (1/6)
     n = 7

Kevin claims he can draw a trapezoid with three right angles. Is this possible? Explain.
MakcuM [25]
Using an indirect proof:

Assume that the figure is a trapezoid.
All trapezoids are quadrilaterals.
All quadrilaterals' interior angles add up to 360° because any n-gon's interior angles add up to 180(n-2)°.
We are given that the trapezoid has three right angles.
All right angles are 90°, thus these right angles have a total measure of 270°.
We can conclude fourth angle must be 90°.
If it has four right angles, it is a rectangle.
Rectangles have two sets of parallel sides.
However, trapezoids have exactly one set of parallel sides.
Alas, our figure cannot be a trapezoid.

Are the equations |x-3|=7 and |x|-3=7
murzikaleks [220]

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

<u><em>1. x=4 or x=10</em></u>

<u><em>2.  x=-10 or x=10</em></u>

<em>No equivalent</em>

<em />

Step-by-step explanation:

1. |x-3|=7 and x-3=7

<em>Absoulte rules.</em>

<em>x-3=-7 and x-3=7</em>

<em>Add 3 both sides.</em>

<em>x-3+3=-7+3</em>

<em>Simplify.</em>

<em>-7+3=-4</em>

<em>x=-4</em>

<em>x-3=7</em>

<em>Add by 3 both sides.</em>

<em>x-3+3=7+3=10</em>

<em>x=10</em>

<em>X=-4, and X=10 is the correct answer.</em>

<em>2. |x|-3=7</em>

<em>Add by 3 both sides.</em>

<em>|x|-3+3=7+3</em>

<em>Simplify.</em>

<em>7+3=10</em>

<em>X=10</em>

<em>X=-10 and X=10 is the correct answer.</em>

Multiply both sides of this fraction by i to cancel out the i in the denominator.

8 * i = 8i

3i * i = 3i^2 = -3

-(8i/3) is the simplified expression.
