Picture shows native American children in front of a school what shift in US government policy does the picture best represent
sergeinik [125]

The picture with the Native American children standing in front of a school shows a major change in the policy toward the Native Americans. Initially, the Native Americans were discriminated against on pretty much all levels. They were seen as wild and uncivilized, so the white settlers were usually forcefully loving them to live into regions far away from them and not allowing them to integrate with them.

This started to change gradually though as the policies were changing against discrimination of the people, and when the stability of the country and its development came to be the most important things. The government of the United States that it would be for the best interest of the country and the Native American population if the Native American children got involved into the education system. By being educated, the children would be able to integrate into the American society, as well as develop skills so that they can compete on the labor market and be able to contribute to the American economy, as well as prosper on individual level.

This process was gradual, but it was effective, and it managed to successfully integrate the Native American population with the other people.

Why did many state governors in the South oppose the Confederate government during the Civil War? They disagreed with its war pl
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer: They resented Confederate taxes.

Explanation:

One of the reasons the Southern sates left was to be more independent as they did not appreciate the powers of a strong central government. The Confederate government therefore, was not to be very strong and capable of overriding the powers of state government.

This changed as the war went on however because a strong central government was needed to coordinate efforts. The President, Jefferson Davis, introduced taxes amongst other things and this did not sit well with Southern governors who felt that their authority was being stripped away.

10. What do you know about Thurgood Marshall's beliefs and character? Use evidence
gavmur [86]

During his time on the Court, Marshall remained a staunch liberal and stuck to his earlier beliefs on the necessity for the state and federal governments to treat the nation's minorities fairly and justly. In 1991, he announced his retirement. judge summaries

As a committed liberal on the Supreme Court during his time there, Marshall emphasized the necessity for the state and federal governments to treat the nation's minorities fairly and justly. His attempt to create a "sliding scale" interpretation of the equal protection clause, which would weigh the goals of the government against the nature and interests of the groups affected by the law, is the best example of his pragmatic approach. He was a pragmatic judicial activist who was dedicated to making the U.S. Constitution work. The Supreme Court never adopted Marshall's sliding scale, although the Court did share Marshall's opinions in a number of significant civil rights decisions in the 1970s.
