  • Relief programs aimed to help rapidly by employing people. Example: the Civil Works Administration (CWA) provided temporary employment fixing roads and bridges.
  • Recovery programs intended to help rebuild, especially in nonbank sectors of the economy. Example: the Home Owners Loan Corp. granted loans to homeowners to pay their mortgages.
  • Reform programs were designed to prevent the depression from reoccurring through legislation that focused on banks, labor and labor unions. Example: the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was created to ensure depositors money in savings banks.

the north achieved victory in the civil war through attrition and massive advances in several fronts . The reason was that the army had several more soldiers in the northern front as compared to the southern front which worked to their benefit .
