1) Louis Riel assembled a revolution of people by himself. Basically by himself, he was able to become the leader of the Metis's government. He captured many fortifications, and got much of the land back. Riel also demanded many things for his people to be safe.
2) Louis Riel supported and wanted to help his people all he could. You could say that he died to protect them. He spent most of his life fighting for their rights. Forming the National Committee of the Metis (protecting their land), and forming the Metis Bill of Rights (protecting themselves).
3) Once the Government of Canada delayed the approval of the Bill of Rights, this is when Riel formed a provisional government. The Government of Canada say this as a revolution, so many people tried to attack Riel. Him and his people rebelled again the government just to get approval of their rights.
