The tropical plants remove carbon from the atmosphere. In a sense they are the only reason global warming hasn't taken over. We can use them to stablize the climate if we can keep them alive and not chop them all down. This is important because the more trees we have the less the climate will change. If the climate keeps changing, the temperture will get hotter, species will die, and all the icecaps will melt

the volcanic soil and grounds are an extreme factor of having diversity in plant life. the air around the islands is also a little bit cleaner than air in nearby continents because the hawaiian islands are smaller so the amount of pollution is lower as well.
