Vertex form of parabola is

y = a(x - b)^2 + c   where a is a constant and  the vertex is at the point (b,c)

so here we have

y = a(x - 4)^2 + 7

To find value of a we plug in the point  (3,6)

6 = a(3 - 4)^2 + 7
6 = a + 7
a =  6-7 = -1

so equation is y = -(x - 4)^2 + 7

Covert to standard form:-
y = -(x^2 - 8x + 16) + 7
y = -x^2 + 8x - 9

Oksana_A [137]

Answer:

See Explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete. I will assume the function is:

f(t) = 15(0.86)^t

Required

Determine the rate of decay

In an exponential function f(x) = ab^x,

The decay rate of the function is calculated as:

1 - r = b

By comparison:

b = 0.86

So, the equation becomes:

1 - r = 0.86

Make r the subject

r = 1 - 0.86

r = 0.14

<em>The rate of decay is 0.14</em>

Answer:

B) Find the ratio of minutes to miles, 4:1. Multiply 7.5 by 4

Step-by-step explanation:

A bicyclist rides the same number of miles every minute. The ratio table below shows the number of miles she rides during certain amounts of time.

Biking Times and Distances

Number of Minutes         Number of Miles

10                                             2.5
