even tho your claim might be able to <em>fit</em> into a sentence, never confuse it for being the <em>same </em>as a sentence.

while a <u>claim</u> is the main argument of an essay,

a <u>sentence</u> is a set of words that usually contain a subject+predicate, and end with either a question mark, period, or exlclamation point.
