How is Whitman's attitude toward death in "Song of Myself" similar to
Rzqust [24]

Answer: A. Both poems suggest a form of life after death that should not be  feared.

Explanation:

In the poem<em> 'Song of myself'</em> , from Whitman's collection <em>Leaves of Grass</em>, Whitman describes death as a new beginning, a return to life. In the poem, he states that “…to die is different from what any one supposed, and / luckier.” He suggests that people should not be afraid of death.

In<em> 'Because I Could Not Stop for Death'</em>, Emily Dickinson presents death as a spiritual rebirth. She describes her journey from life to afterlife, accompanied by Death. Death is personified in this poem and is not intimidating at all. He is a very generous guide and makes her journey a rather pleasing experience.

Both the authors support the same idea - that death should not be feared, as it leads to nothing but a life after death.

How does the author balance the suspense of Scene 4 with the sadness of Scene 5? in anne frank
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

The author balances the suspense in scene 4 with the sadness in scene 5, using foreshadowing.

Explanation:

Foreshadowing is a literary technique where the author advances a situation that will happen later in the narrative. This can be seen in scene 4 where Anne has a dream that her family will be captured by the Nazis. The dream terrifies her and makes her screams wake up everyone who is asleep, the screams provide suspense and an omen about what may happen in the future.

In scene 5, Anne and all the Jews in the secret annex are celebrating hanuka, that's when they hear a noise downstairs and are apprehensive, because they believe the Nazis have found them. This apprehension is related to Anne's dream.

However, over time they discover that he was not a thief, but all the fear they felt changes their desire to celebrate the hanuka and makes everyone saddened by the situation they are living in.

Which sentence from Chapter 3 of To Kill A Mockingbird best supports the idea that Walter has had a change of heart? Question 9
Fudgin [204]

The right answer is: D) "Jem ran to the kitchen (...) we had company". Jem invites Walter Cunningham to lunch when he finds out that he has nothing to eat. Walter hesitates, but ends up accepting the invitation. At the Finch house, Atticus and Walter discuss technical matters of the field, and Scout is overwhelmed by his mature discourse. Walter asks for more molasses and pours it in the meat and the vegetables. Scout asks him straight out what he´s doing, and Calpurnia gives him a lesson on how to treat guests, even if the are from families like the Cunningham.

Why is it helpful to use a number of different senses when creating mental images
RideAnS [48]
If you use different senses the body has, like smell, feeling, touching, tasting, all these things help to create a mental image because if you have already experienced what you are mentally trying to imagine, using those senses help you to make that mental image appear.

Example - Say you went to an amusement park when you were little and you are trying to remember the different types of food that you ate there. You could walk past a vendor or bakery and some of the smells coming from there might help you to remember the different foods they had at the amusement park. You would be using your sense of smell to help you create that mental image of the foods you once had.
