Dr Suzanne Degges-White wrote in her article "The 13 Essential Traits of Good Friends" in which she lists 13 points or characteristics that are essential to build a long lasting healthy relationship. While it may be that not everyone will have the same qualities or that anyone can have all the qualities listed, but it is important to note that everyone have their own levels of the characteristics listed. Some may have more than others but that doesn't mean they will have a long lasting relationship more lasting than others. The whole point of the article is that no matter the level, as long as one can have a reliable friend and can be one too, it is not that hard to maintain a successful relationship. They can all contribute to a long lasting relationship.
