Exposed fracture happens when the focus of the fracture has some communication with the external environment, when the internal part has a communication with the ambient air, even minimally, is already defined as exposed. You don't need to see the bone, a simple toe strike that generates a skin lesion is already classified as an exposed fracture. When an individual has an open fracture in the leg, the ideal is to lie the person so that they do not move the leg and end up worsening the situation. Then medical help should be called immediately because the risk of infection is high.
Variable ratio Among the reinforcement schedules, variable ratio is the most productive and the most resistant to extinction. Fixed interval is the least productive and the easiest to extinguish (Figure 1).
